  • Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind has announced that he will be retiring from football at the end of the season. The Dutchman joined the club in 2014 and made over 150 appearances for the Red Devils.

Blind's retirement was confirmed by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Wednesday. He said: "We're all very sad to hear that Daley is retiring after this season."

The 32-year-old had struggled with injuries throughout his time at Old Trafford, but despite that, he still managed to make an impact on the pitch. His performances earned him praise from fans and teammates alike, and he was also named as one of the Premier League's best midfielders last season.

Blind began his career with Ajax before joining Manchester United in 2014. He played a key role in helping the club win the Europa League in 2016, and he also helped them reach the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2017.

Despite his struggles with injuries, Blind remained committed to playing for Manchester United until the end of his career. He said: "I'm really grateful to have been part of such an amazing club like Manchester United. I've had so many great memories here, and I'll always cherish my time at Old Trafford."

Blind's retirement comes just weeks after fellow midfielder Anthony Martial announced his own retirement from professional football. Martial announced his decision on Monday, saying that he wanted to spend more time with his family and focus on his health.

Blind's retirement marks the end of an era at Manchester United, and it will be a big loss for the team. However, he will always be remembered as a hard-working and dedicated player who gave everything for the club.
